Evil Eye Prescription Information

The specially developed evil eye RX blank is at the heart of every model of evil eye sport eyewear.  We always have a prescription lenses solution – for every evil eye model. This gives you and your customers a genuine choice. Thanks to our in-house solution, it is now possible to respond to every need and thus offer a comprehensive repertoire.

The individual lens design is processed into the RX blank. The special overlaid lens, combined with the polycarbonate used for evil eye, offers the highest quality for sport eyewear. This means it is possible to supply evil eye RX lenses in the same colors as
for evil eye plano.  

Thanks to the special blank with overlay, it is possible to achieve:

• unrivaled color fidelity: plano = RX
• long-lasting color stability: no fading over time
• polarized and vario lenses of a very high quality
• compared with other materials, polycarbonate
  has a higher refractive index at 1.59 (PU, Trivex,
  NXT → 1.53)

Factors that affect the calculation of the Rx lenses:

• Thickness of blank
• Power of lens
• Lens shape
• Pupillary distance
• Fitting height

The high-end lens technology intensifies contrasts, harmonizes fluctuations caused by the interplay of light and shadow and ensures clear vision and relaxed viewing. Suitable for all light conditions

Benefit:

Function:

• Different colors have different wavelengths. LST® technology filters out certain wavelengths from the color spectrum. This allows athletes to perceive their environment more clearly, in greater contrast and more harmoniously.
• LST® lenses can be used universally and are particularly well suited for sports that involve great contrasts between light and dark.

Injection Wafer Technology

The self-tinting technology is located – ideally protected – between two scratch-resistant polycarbonate layers.

Evil Eye offers several options for how the prescription can be made for the glasses.  Some styles have multiple options, some options are not avaialble for all models.  Here are the options.

Cut Outs (Adapter): 

Note:  Evil Eye calls these "Adapters" but we call them "Cut Outs" on our site.  There is a hole cut into the shield where the prescription goes into an adpater. This is not an "insert" that snaps inside behind the sunglasses (two separate parts).  Evil Eye has this but they call it "clip ins". This is one piece that replaced the shield lens of the non-prescription sunglasses. 

 

RX Clip In:

Within the "clip in" range, Evil Eye has several sizes and shapes available including rimless ones and full clear plastic ones to accomodate higher prescriptions. 

 

Progressive Lens Technology:

Optimal near/far zone:  Whether assessing the view over the mountainside, immediately spotting obstacles in your path or glancing at your wristwatch... Optimal sight in every range of vision is crucial, especially for athletes. Unique to Evil Eye, the progressive lens transitions from distance to intermediate to distance again at the bottom.  This allows you to see distance for things like the ground, a golf ball, and more without magnifying the ground like a normal progressive. Gives truer depth perception when looking down.

Evil Eye Edge:

evil eye edge means that the optical power is not continued to the edge of the corrective lens. This makes it possible to reduce the edge thickness and the overall weight of the eyewear. With evil eye edge, even athletes with a high diopter number can opt for a perfect lightweight eyewear model. The blended region is individually customized in order to achieve the optimal visual experience. For your customers evil eye edge means thinner lenses even at higher prescription. evil eye edge is a revolutionary technology. It can be used to reduce the weight of your sport eyewear by up to 40% and the thickness by up to 55%. Due to the incomparable comfort for the wearer that results from the reduction in weight and thickness, with evil eye edge lenses you experience an unprecedented sensation of lightness and support for your personal performance

Evil Eye Cut:

The evil eye cut is a specially developed processing for lens edges to make the glass as thin, light and stable as possible. This creates the optimum prerequisites for aesthetically pleasing eyewear. Inner swivelled edge surface Outer swivelled edge surface The thickness of the lens edge is reduced still further with the blended facet evil eye RX lenses The evil eye cut is individually calculated and processed according to the visual disorder and measurement parameters. The implementation involves special cutting of the lens and tilting the outer and inner swivelled edge surfaces. A further option is the evil eye edge to reduce the thickness of the lens and thus lower the weight considerably.

Lens Shape Deviation:

Sometimes the lens shape will deviate from the plano version in order for the prescription to work.

Good vision is vital for sport. The evil eye lens tech nology provides optimum vision in uncompromising quality in any light and weather conditions as well as for any sport.

VARiO
evil eye technology for smooth-transition self-tinting (photochromic) lenses. Self-tinting technology and UV-protection VARiO lenses react faster than other photochromic lenses on the market, cover a broader range of tint and are considerably more durable.
evil eye VARiO lenses are also available for spectacles with prescription lenses (individual visual acuity) and up to Base 10 (highly curved lens).  Physical factors mean that the efficiency of the VARiO filter is impacted at high temperatures. The lower absorption at higher temperatures consequently does not represent a criterion for complaint. Without exception, all evil eye lenses – regardless of how strongly they are tinted – offer 100 percent protection against harmful UV A, B and C radiation (UV 400).

Benefit:

• Photochromic lenses are especially pleasant for the eyes as they adjust automatically and smoothly to match the prevailing light conditions. They turn darker when the sun is shining and let more light through in fading conditions. It means that with just one pair of glasses and without any replacement lenses, you always have the optimum tint. From morning to evening – and even at night!

Function:

• Photochromism is based on inorganic chemistry and the reaction to UV radia tion: the more intense the UV light, the darker the lenses become and vice versa.

LST:

LST® lenses intensify contrasts, harmonize rapid fluctuations caused by the in terplay of light and shadow and ensure clear vision. LST® reduces light intensity to a pleasant level and helps wearers to perceive different colors better and more distinctly.

LST Vario:  

The combination of LST™ and VARiO brings together the benefits of the two technologies: intensified contrasts, harmonization of rapid fluctuations caused by the interplay of light and shadow and smooth self-tinting in changing light conditions.

Vario:

VARiO lenses with photochromic technology adapt automatically and smoothly to changing conditions of light and weather.
