Solar Radiation and Eye Care:  Light is an electromagnetic ray characterized by its wave length and measured in nanometers (1 nm=1/1,000,000 of a mm).  The ultraviolet rays (UVA, B and C) are the most dangerous rays for our eyes.  Our lenses absorb all the ultraviolet rays:  the residual transmission is less that 0.001% up to the 385nm (the wave length at which the visible spectrum begins).  The lens receives an application of metal ions of chrome or silicon oxide, calculated in such a way as to provide a precise absorption factor. 

 RP Optics (Advanced Performance Lens Technology):  Injected at a pressure that can reach 800 bar, the RP Optics™ lens is a afocal lens for unsurpassed visual acuity, scratch and UV protection.  The optical power, astigmatism, prism, definition, and cosmetic quality of material and surface of the lens have characteristics equivalent to or better than the international regulations relative to prescription lenses.

Polarized:  Polycarbonate lenses:  Lightweight and more impact resistant than glass lenses.  The polarizing film cuts through glare and harsh sun reflections, enabling wearers to see clearly in bright light conditions and minimize eye fatigue.  Available in gray and brown, they transmit 22% of visible light.  Perfect for surfers, anglers, boaters and sun-worshipers.

RP-D-Centered™:  The optical axis is maintained parallel to the main axis of vision, permitting maximum utilization of lenses with extensive curvature (basis 6-8), respecting the need of optical quality and visual clarity.

The above shows the stress in polycarbonate lenses (right) versus ImpactX lenses (left).  While the ImpactX NXT lenses are virtually unbreakable, they may not be designed to be safety lenses and should not be considered a permanent shield against eye injury.

Use chart below to find if a direct in prescription lens is available in your power. You must know your PD (pupil distance) to use this chart.  Prescription powers are listed in sphere power.  Cylinder power cannot exceed 2.00 diopters.  The KBco polarized wrap lens is an aspheric lens that reduces thickness and has better optics than the Polar 3FX lenses.  Some styles can be made in higher powers with smaller lens size than original frame (as noted).   Ranges apply to direct in lenses only.  For inserts, see bottom of chart.  Ranges are estimates and higher ranges may be available with FreeForm Tek lenses.
